About ForecastGeo

ForecastGeo takes news headlines and summaries from newsrooms and wire services, extracts the place each story happened, and puts those stories on a map. Every marker is a real story from a real outlet, not an algorithm's invention.

The point is to make it easy to see where the news is coming from, and from that to ask which places the news covers and which it ignores. That question is answered honestly on the Coverage page, built only from the articles on this site.

What the site adds

Who runs it

ForecastGeo is a small independent project. Headlines and summaries belong to the newsrooms that published them; ForecastGeo adds the geography, the comparison, and the audit. We don't take story pitches, sell placement in the feed, or accept money in exchange for coverage.
